Balraj Syal was brought up by his paternal uncle & aunt because of he lost his parents at very early age in an accident.
He wanted to become IAS or IPS officer but due to family’s financial condition he could not do so.
Balraj’s acting guru, Amit Sharma told him about the auditions of Punjabi comedy show ‘Hasde Hasande Ravo’ in which laterally he was selected.
In 2009, Balraj won the “Best Stand-up Comedian Trophy” in popular show “Laughter Ke Phatke” & in 2014 he won comedy show “Comedy Ka Maha Muqabla.”
Balraj is close firend of Kapil Sharma and he has also shared stage with Kapil Sharma at many events. Both has also shared flat during struggling time.
And now(2020) he is one of the contestant of latest TV show “Mujhse Shaadi Kroge”(Shehnaaz & Paras Chabra‘s Swayamvram). He is competing along with Mayur Verma, Rohanpreet Singh, Indeep Bakshi. Lady participants in the show are Sanjjanaa Galrani, Navdeesh Kaur, Ankita Srivastva, Jasleen Matharu & Heena Panchal.
In the same year, he is also participating in the Indian reality and stunt based television series “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 10”, hosted by Rohit Shetty.
