Shivam Lohakare is a talented Indian javelin thrower from Sonai, Maharashtra.
Born into a farming family, Lokhare’s journey in athletics began when he was in the sixth grade, encouraged by his PT teacher to take up javelin throw. Initially, he used bamboo stems from his family’s fields as makeshift javelins. His natural talent and dedication caught the attention of coach Kashinath Naik, who had previously trained Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra.
Silver Medal at Indian Open 2025: Lokhare finished second in the Indian Open 2025 with a throw of 80.73m, becoming the latest Indian athlete to breach the 80m mark.
Gold Medal at Indian Grand Prix 3: In May 2024, Lokhare secured a gold medal at the Indian Grand Prix 3 event in Bengaluru with a throw of 76.19m.
Asian U20 Athletics Championships: He won a silver medal at the Asian U20 Athletics Championships with a throw of 72.34m.
National Games 2023: Lokhare finished fifth in the National Games 2023 with a best attempt of 76.92m.
