Aman is an Indian wrestler who got inspired by Sushil Kumar’s silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, he began training at the Chhatrasal Stadium in North Delhi at the age of 10.
Although, Aman is orphaned as he lost both of his parents at the age of 11. His mother died by suicide due to mental health struggles, and his father who was a tractor mechanic turned farmer, passed away a few months later.
After this, Aman and his younger sister, Puja, were taken in by their uncle, Sudhir Sehrawat.
However, he grabbed the limelight for the first time in 2019 when he won the gold medal at the Asian Cadet Championship in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
At the Asian Games 2022, he won the bronze medal in the 57kg event & impressed everyone with his speed and technique.
In Asian wrestling championship 2023, he won gold medal again.
In 2024, Aman won the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics in the men’s 57kg freestyle division.
With this Aman became youngest Indian medal winner & he made a record to achieved this medal at the age of 21 years and 24 days. Before this, PV Sindhu made this record at 21 years, one month and 14 days when she bagged the silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
