He is a left-arm fast-medium bowler and right-handed batsman who currently plays for Baroda in domestic cricket and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
Akash hails from a middle-class farming family. His father, Maharaj Singh, is a farmer, and his mother is a homemaker. He has a brother, Lakhan Singh, who introduced him to cricket. Akash trained at Shardul Sports School in Bikaner and later under coach Vivek Yadav at Aravali Cricket Club in Jaipur.
He made his Twenty20 debut for Rajasthan in the 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
