Mamta Kulkarni is an Indian actress & model who announced her sanyasi recently & became Mahamandaleswar of Kinnar akhara during Prayagraj Mahakumbh in 2025. During the ceremony, Mamta has performed the Pind Daan ritual at the Triveni Sangam. After all rituals, she adopted new name “Yamai Mamta Nand Giri“.
In her childhood, Mamta had actively participated in school plays & in cultural programs. Her father, Mukund Kulkarni was a former commissioner in Mumbai.
She was interested in acting since school timing, so she made acting as her profession.
Although, she made her film debut in 1992 with movie “Tirangaa“. A year later she won Filmfare award for Lux new Face of the Year for movie “Aashiq Awara“.
She has worked in more than 40 movies such as Karan Arjun, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Naseeb, Baazi, Krantiveer, China Gate, Waqt Hanara Hai & many more.
In 1996, Mamta met Vicky Goswami & they fell love with each other. However, Vicky was arrested in a drug case in 1997 & went to jail for next 12 years.
In 2002, she appeared in film “Kabhie Tum Kabhie Hum” & after which she left Bollywood.
Apart from this, she has also appeared in some magazines cover page such as Cine Blitz, Stardust & Showtime.
Moreover, she also got invitation to participate in TV’s most controversial show “Bigg Boss Season 7” but they refused this offer.
