Swapnil Kusale is an Indian shooter who won a bronze medal in the men’s 50-metre rifle three positions event at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Although, Kusale began his journey in shooting after his father enrolled him in Maharashtra’s Krida Prabhodini sports program in 2009.
However, Kusale received rigorous training under the Krida Prabhodini program, which is known for nurturing young sports talents in Maharashtra.
Since 2013, Kusale has been supported by Lakshya Sports, which has played a crucial role in his development as a shooter.
In 2015, he won a gold medal in the 50m rifle prone junior category at the Asian Shooting Championships in Kuwait.
Apart from this, Kusale has achieved notable success in national events, including gold medals at the 59th and 61st National Shooting Championships in events like the 50m rifle prone and 50m rifle three positions.
In October 2022, Kusale secured an Olympic quota spot for India by finishing fourth at the ISSF World Shooting Championships in Cairo.
Despite finishing fifth in the final trial, Kusale was selected for the Indian Olympic team for the 50m rifle three positions event based on his performance in earlier trials.
